“I learned early that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you end. My journey began in the Mississippi Delta, but every hardship, every lesson, and every person who believed in me helped shape the man, father, and mentor I became.”

Bo Hill in college

A Life Built with Purpose

Bo Hill was raised in Greenwood, Mississippi, in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Growing up, he experienced poverty, hunger, and family separation, but through faith, determination, education, and the support of those who believed in him, he built a different life.

Above all, Bo has dedicated himself to being a present father and positive role model, determined to give his children the stability and opportunities he never had growing up.

Education, Career & Service

Bo earned both his undergraduate degree and an MBA before building a successful career in pharmaceutical sales. Along the way, he remained committed to mentorship, service, and creating opportunities for others.

A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the Free and Accepted Masons, Bo has also spent years officiating collegiate and national-level sports. Today, he lives in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, where he continues to work, mentor others, and speak about resilience, fatherhood, education, and breaking generational cycles.

Breaking Free from the Deep South: A Black Father’s Journey from Poverty to Purpose is his debut memoir.
